Slow start this morning had to avoid the party goers from the night before on their way home. Weather is closing in a bit, windy, a little rain and coldish. BUT the scenery is changing dramatically - much more to my liking ! Lots of trees, heather and hills today. We´re now in the foothills of the mountains.
We decided to have a short day today for 2 reasons. Firstly, in this village is the only Albergue run by the British Confraternity of St James. Thought we should support the British hospitality! It has been excellent so far and we´ve been promised a brew up at 5pm !! This despite the fact that a lot of the volunteers appear to be Aussies. We had a look through the past ledgers but couldn't find Jim Graham anywhere. (post note : apparently he was in a 'special' ledger ...)
The other reason is that there are vespers tonight at 7pm, which are sung in Gregorian chant (for 30 mins) by the Benedictine monks in the monastery next door. I have been looking forward to this all walk! We do intend trying to get a little video clip.
All round has been a good day and we are looking forward to the next few days - hills! My shin seems to be a lot better, maybe anaesthetised by all the vino tinto we are drinking daily. Not sure what we will do when we get home and can´t justify drinking a bottle each afternoon and then having a little siesta. I guess we´ll have to cut out the siesta !!!!! (KJ´s recommendation anyway!)

Good Evening Joanna and Kevin
Cassy, Jimmy and I are round at your old dears having tea and biscuits. They did have a bbq this afternoon but sadly they didn't invite us!!!!! We just turned up at the wrong or was it the right time.
Just keep walking, just keep walking.
Have fun and take care

Funny they have probably presevered my entry in their ledger!!!
I was told they (con of St James) was to open a second place! Perhaps later.
